Movies I didn’t see but might have made the list:

The Master, Life of Pi, Skyfall, Argo, Lincoln, Wreck it Ralph, Cloud Atlas, Perks of Being a Wallflower, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Zero Dark Thirty, Les Miserables, Silver Linings Playbook, Seven Psychopaths

The Dark Knight Rises - This… this one tiny piece of dialog is the entire film. And the entire film is about rising from the ashes, no matter how much what was previously destroyed meant to you. This line of dialog… It’s so tiny, that you might have missed it. Did you catch it?

—-

Alfred: “You hung up your cape and your cowl, but you didn’t move on, you never went to find a life, to find someone…”
Bruce Wayne: “Alfred… I did find someone.”
Alfred: “I know, and you lost her…. But that’s all part of living, sir. But you’re not living. You’re just waiting, hoping for things to go bad again.”

—-

If I had an Alfred, I might not have moved away from everyone I cared about. How far did you run away?
