Many many horror fans despise this film, but not I, and I will defend it to the death. There are moments in this film that get me out of my seat, blood pumping through my veins cheering at my television. The shit that goes down in that house is so fucking manic and depraved; it fires me up. Back when this film was released on DVD I spent a night huffing Ether, watching the scenes in the kitchen and dining room over and over again, laughing like a maniac.

Matthew McConaughey has never bested his performance in this film. The scene where he puts the double barrel shotgun in his mouth and dares Renee Zellweger to fire, and she does fire one barrel that wasn’t loaded, absolutely kills me. It only gets better when he takes the gun away from her and fires the other barrel to show it WAS loaded. HOLY SHIT! Awesome!

Fuck hating this movie! Leatherface is a Transvestite, the Family is run by some underground syndicate that controls the world by fear, the woman who nonchalantly drives through town with a screaming teenager in her trunk, running a line of creamy bullshit to everyone she speaks to, and the guy who keeps tossing out historical quotes left and right; goddammit I love this movie.
